Sow before you reap
Around three-quarters of our plant ingredients come from organic or biodynamic farming and from certified wild collection. Naturally, we can't grow all plants ourselves.

Natural cosmetics are not always natural cosmetics. NATRUE is the first internationally recognised quality seal for organic and natural cosmetics creating clarity in the label ‘jungle’.
A lifetime of experience
We have more than 90 years of experience in manufacturing natural cosmetics and pharmaceutical products. According to our motto - in harmony with nature and the human being – Weleda is committed to treat nature in a responsible and caring way. So the high quality and availability of our raw materials is secured through biodynamic cultivation in our own medicinal herb gardens, or by certified wild collection, or close cooperation with long-term contractors.
- In addition to the quality of our raw materials, we place great emphasis on sustainable and socially responsible trade, more commonly known as fair trade. This applies to the entire production chain.
- We consistently avoid synthetic dyes and fragrances or ‘nature-identical’ preservatives. Only natural essential oils are used for the perfuming of our products.
- The social, material-environmental, user and therapeutic quality of everything we do form the four pillars upon which Weleda’s full definition of quality rests.
